Basic Discipleship Lessons for Believing Children
These Basic Discipleship Lessons were created to help you incorporate short but strong teaching during your class hour on topics essential for spiritual growth in the lives of children who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. The written materials include key truths and verses that reveal God's teaching on that topic. Study and select the topics you want to present to the children in your class. Remember, the material on these notes was not designed to be taught all at one time, but to be divided up and presented in 10-15 minute segments over a period of a few weeks.
In order to keep the attention of the children, we have also included some patterns that can be used to make a visual aid to illustrate the truths taught. Download and print the patterns supplied so that you can make your own visual aid for teaching the selected topic. Reduce or enlarge the patterns given to make them the appropriate size for your situation, whether using them one-on-one or in larger groups. We've provided models of the finished tools to show you one way the patterns can be cut out and used to create your tool.
The first two lessons below give helpful instruction on how children develop spiritually, as well as some general instructions as to how to make tools like this for any topic that you feel necessary for discipling believing children. Please read through these two lessons first and then choose the topic that you think would be most helpful for the saved children in your ministry to start learning more about. Then watch them grow week by week as you plant these powerful seeds in their young thirsty hearts!
