Making and Using Review Games
Reviewing what you teach helps "glue" the truths into the minds of your students. That's why they call review the mother of all learning. However, merely repeating the information again and again can turn off the minds of your students. That's why review can also be called the father of boredom. The key to reviewing important information that you want the children to remember (without causing them to tune out) is to make it fun!
Below, you will find many games to use with your class to seal in the life-changing truths that you give out each week. Instructions and patterns are given for each game so that you can make your own.
There are two sections of games below. The first contains generic games that could be used to review any lesson. The second section contains games that were made to go with specific lessons. We listed them by the Bible lessons they were initially created to be used with, but feel free to adapt and use them any way you would like. We've also made a link for you to click on in order to be reminded of some important teaching principles for your review time so that it can be as effective as possible.
